Paris | Honeymoon part 1

Almost 2 months later, but I’m back and ready to blog!

If you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw that I was in Europe for three weeks back in September. My husband Eric and I got married July 3, but we wanted to delay our honeymoon a bit to give us some time to settle and regroup. Planning a wedding and a three week trip at the same time seemed a little chaotic. We bought our plane tickets in May and then made a deal that we wouldn’t plan any more of our trip until after the wedding. Let me just say that going on a delayed honeymoon was the best thing ever! It definitely cured my post-wedding blues because we still had so much to look forward to after the wedding!

Fast forward to a little less than two months after our wedding, August 30th to be exact, and we were on a plane headed for Paris. Our full itinerary: Paris, Reims, Lyon, Nice, Monaco, Marseille, Aix-en-Provence, and London!

Paris was the first stop of our honeymoon. After about 27 hours of travel we made it to our hotel, dropped our bags, and crashed for a four hour nap. I told Eric that I was setting an alarm for 7:30 pm so that we could catch the Eiffel Tower before it got dark, and then of course we stayed around to watch it light up and sparkle.

Here are some of my favorite photos from Paris.
I think they share a little bit of everything we were able to see.

continue on to read and see more!

Paris was absolutely stunning and it was truly everything I imaged it would be. I had a lot of people tell me before we left that I was going to be disappointed. They couldn’t have been more wrong. We had the most amazing time exploring the city. All the Parisians we met were so kind and friendly, we never really felt out of place. Okay, well, maybe excluding the fact that neither of us speak French, at least not fluently.

One of the days we were staying in Paris we took a train to Reims, where we went to the Veuve-Clicquot and Pommery champagne houses for tours! That will have to be another post, but I will say that it was one of the coolest things I’ve ever experienced! Highly recommend making the trip there from Paris; it’s only about an hour train ride.

There were so many things we wanted to do in Paris! We knew there wasn’t enough time to get to everything, so we kind of just tried to do all we could each day, and if we couldn’t fit something in, we’d live! There’s always next time.

I plan to share another post about Paris, where I'll highlight my favorite things and share a lot more details.
