Getting lost in London | Honeymoon part 4

Sunday, December 28, 2014

Ohhhh my gosh, London, where do I even begin?! I completely and utterly fell in love with this city, and the only reasonable thing to do is to move there. Okay maybe not, but a girl can dream.

We were in London for 5 nights, and it definitely was not enough time! This city is bursting with amazing restaurants, shopping, coffee shops, architecture, museums, and parks. We stayed in a really awesome area called Shoreditch, at a place we found on Airbnb. Shoreditch reminded me so much of Portland, especially since they have an Ace Hotel there. There are so many locally owned restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques in this part of London; I was in love.

One of my favorite things to do in a big city is to just walk around! We stumbled upon so many cool places just by walking around, and turning down random streets and alleys. Back to my idea of moving to London, if we ever do, I will write a blog, and it will be titled “Getting Lost in London”. Or something to that effect.

London Recommendations:
  • See a musical or a broadway play. We saw The Book of Mormon when we went, it was hilarious.
  • Perhaps this is really cheesy, but we got passes for the Big Red Bus tours. It worked out really well because not only could we take a tour around London, but we could also use it as a transportation resource too.
  • Go on the London Eye at sunset, gorgeous!
  • Visit the Tate Modern museum, it’s free - no excuses not to go!
  • See as many parks as possible!
  • Bourough Market
  • Eat/Drink at: Dishoom (for breakfast and dinner!), Shake Shack, Nordic Bakery, Monmouth Coffee, Ace Hotel’s coffee bar, Ben’s Cookies
  • Also, check out these blog posts (one & two), from two of my favorite bloggers. Really great recommendations!
Also, read about our Honeymoon part 1, 2, and 3!
